How we handle your family’s information.

Plainly, and without the small print. If anything here is unclear, ask us — we would rather explain it than have you guess.

The short version

We collect what we need to offer your child a place and to care for them well. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to market anything to you. Only Juno’s own staff see it, and only the parts of it they need to do their job.

What we collect, and why

When you join our waitlist, we ask for your child’s name and date of birth, the days and start date you need, your name and how to reach you, and anything you choose to tell us about your child — allergies, additional support needs, languages spoken at home.

We use it for one purpose: to assess whether we can offer your child a place, and to contact you about it. The date of birth tells us which age group your child would join and whether they meet the minimum age our licence allows. What you tell us about allergies or support needs helps us prepare properly before their first day.

If your child is enrolled, we collect more — emergency contacts, authorised pickups, immunisation and health information, and attendance. Some of this we are required to keep by the Child Care Licensing Regulation. We will always tell you why we are asking for something.

Who sees it

Juno’s own staff, and only what their role requires. Our system enforces this: staff who work with children cannot open billing records, and staff who handle billing cannot open a child’s health information.

We share information outside Juno in three situations only:

  • When you ask us to, or agree to it.
  • When the law requires it — a licensing officer from Fraser Health, or a duty to report a child’s safety.
  • In an emergency, with medical responders caring for your child.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers or partner companies, or use it for targeted advertising.

Where it is kept

On servers in Canada, protected by encryption in transit and access limited to named staff accounts. Our waitlist and family records are held in a system we run ourselves rather than a third-party marketing platform.

How long we keep it

If we are not able to offer your child a place, we keep your application for two years and then delete it. Two years because families often apply again the following year, and it saves you starting over. If you would rather we deleted it sooner, ask and we will.

For enrolled children we keep records for as long as required by the Child Care Licensing Regulation, and then delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about your family, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete it. Just email us — there is no form to fill in. We will respond within 30 days, which is the limit British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act sets.

Withdrawing consent is always an option, though it may mean we can no longer hold a place or care for your child.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and does not run analytics that follow you across other sites.

Children

The information we hold about children comes from their parents or guardians, not from the children themselves. This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything directly from them.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell enrolled families directly rather than expect you to notice.

Asking us about any of this
